MSNBC's Countdown on Vaughn "AWK!" Ward: "Imitation is the sincerest form of stupidity."

The only difference between Idaho GOP goofball wingnut primary candidate Vaughn "AWK!" Ward and a pinata is, you don't get candy out of Ward when you beat him with a stick.

I take back the above written comment. Apparently, Ward IS candy to the national media. MMMmmmmmm, candy...

Last night?

Serephin, I missed Keith last night. What'd he have to say about Ward last night?

Mostly...

... on the screw-ups Ward has been making over the length of his campaign. Tonight focused on his theft of Obama's 2004 speech. Keith tag-teamed with Richard Wolfe on Ward, which made the beat-down more fun than a basket of kittens.

Thank you!

Yes, I caught tonight, but I figured it was probably similar last night. I loved the Richard Wolfe portion of the segment with Keith.

People say

Ward dominated Leno's monologue tonight.

Labrador wins

And Minnick gets the tougher race, IMHO. Have 1st CD Republicans actually given up their time-honored tradition of nominating the most embarrassing candidate possible? See Chenoweth, Sali, et al.

tougher race? I don't think so

I watched the Labrador-Ward debate. I thought that Ward was the better of the two head to head, quicker and crisper, even when wrong or mis-spoken, and had the advantages of lacking a Latino accent and good looks.

But of course, this was before all his blunders surfaced. Ward may emerge somewhere, sometime, a smarter campaigner, but he's all done in Idaho. Plagiarizing the Obama speech was political suicide, and won't be forgotten. Unless he is as callow as Palin, most likely he's all done with politics as a potential candidate.

Labrador will need to really sharpen up to compete with Minnick. He's very slow on the uptake, and weak in making his points. Walt will get the best of him in a debate, I think, and the teabaggers didn't make much headway with their other faves.

LIke Sali

Labrador pissed off the moderate wing by leading the charge against Kirk Sullivan for leadership. This isn't the only thing either. That was a slap in the face to the IACI crowd who went all in for Ward and Labrador's anemic fundraising is evidence of the fact that the same informal coalition that got Minnick elected is still in tact. The money will stay with the man they know and trust rather than go with the opportunistic wingnut. Minnick won huge last night.

As a result the NRCC will have to devote significant resources to get Labrador elected in a district that went +20 for McCain. That is sweet music to my ears.

That analysis, Sisyphus

is sweet music to my ears as well. I hadn't thought of it that way, but you make perfect sense. I guess it doesn't matter now, though. We have what we have. And what we have is a race between Raul and Walt. This should be interesting.
